Vasectomy

Redcliffs Medical Centre offers scalpel-free vasectomy at our modern, comfortable and well equipped surgery. This technique offers the most effective form of contraception, in a safe and minimally invasive procedure.

 

Before booking your vasectomy you will have an initial appointment with the doctor to explain the procedure, a brief examination will be performed and the doctor will answer any of your questions.

 

The vasectomy itself is performed under local anaesthetic and takes approximately 45 minutes. We use the no-scalpel-technique which involves dividing the vas deferens (the tube that carries sperm from the testis) via a tiny entry point in the scrotum. You will need to take the remainder of the day off and avoid heavy lifting and vigorous exercise for a week after. A follow up semen sample is conducted at 3 months to give you the all clear.

Vasectomy costs $550  including your initial appointment, and are available for both enrolled and non-enrolled patients. We offer vasectomies most days of the week so you will be sure to find a date and time that fits around your schedule. Please phone our reception to enquire.
